Xavier Vidal

Xavier Vidal, violinist and multi-instrumentalist, discovered folk musical
traditions while at the Conservatoire Occitan de Toulouse. Towards the end
of the 1970's, he participated in research and collection efforts along with
Claude Sicre, and collaborated with different musical groups such as Riga Raga, Renat Jurié, Jean-Pierre Lafitte. Since then, and with the aide of the ADA, he has created a program for the teaching of traditional music in the music schools of the Lot region. He has also participated in musical experimentation with such musicians as Bernard Lubat, André Minvielle and Jean-François Prigent
